The top five companies accounted for 44% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that JFE filed the most environmental sustainability patents within the mining industry in Q4 2023. The company filed 64 environmental sustainability-related patents in the quarter, compared with 116 in the previous quarter. It was followed by China Baowu Steel Group with 33 environmental sustainability patent filings, Ansteel Group (32 filings), and Mitsui Mining & Smelting (19 filings) in Q4 2023.
